Hogwood is the overarching antagonist of Sinners. He is a racist and a Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan who sells his sawmill to Smoke and Stack and planning on killing them alongside the Klan the day afterwards.
Personality[]
He is an unpleasant bigot who leads a racist terrorist organization. The twins banish him from their land once he's sold it to them, and even his own family members, once turned to vampirism, have no objections to Remmick planning to rip him to shreds once he's finished with the juke joint. He is also a coward as when Smoke slaughtered his men, Hogwood plead for mercy only for Smoke to finish him off without hesitation.
Biography[]
Hogwood is the Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan of the Mississippi Delta who spend his days torturing and killing black people in his sawmill because of his bigotry towards them. One day he sold the sawmill to the twin brothers Smoke and Stack to start a juke joint for the local black community. His family members Bert and Joan were originally going to take part on the attack before Irish vampire Remmick turned them into vampires like him.
After the vampire attack that happened at the juke joint, Hogwood and the KKK arrived there to continue their killing, only for Smoke to kill all of them, before getting shot in the process. Hogwood, shot and on the floor, begged for mercy so his life can be spared, but Smoke asks for a cigarette and Hogwood insults him until Smoke reloads his weapon. He then hands Smoke a cigarette and as the latter is witnessing the souls of his deceased family, Hogwood begs for his life, in exchange for large sums of money but Smoke instead shoots him full with an entire magazine of bullets, and Smoke dies from his wounds peacefully.
